Dental Anaesthesia Training
Dental Anaesthesia residents receive extensive clinical training through rotations with affiliated teaching hospitals as well as in dedicated dental anaesthesia surgicentres.
Residents master a wide range of anaesthetic techniques, including conscious sedation, deep sedation and general anaesthesia for both adult, paediatric and special needs care. Anaesthesia research covers a broad range of topics, from orofacial inflammation to pain mechanisms and control to population studies on access to anaesthesia.
Successful completion of the program entitles the student to challenge the examination of the American Board of Dental Anesthesia.
Successful completion of this Board examination allows the student to apply for specialty licensure in Dental Anaesthesia from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
